What to pack
- Passport (make sure it's valid and doesn't expire before October 2024)
- Personal toiletries (shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.)
- Wet wipes and hand sanitizer for build site
- Kleenex for build site
- Sunscreen
- Hat
- Sunglasses or safety googles
- Work or garden gloves
- Work pants or shorts of modest length (pants are preferred by those working on the roof)
- Work shirts or tee shirts
- Work shoes or tennis shoes (closed toe required)
- Very casual clothing for travel and meals
- Light jacket or sweater for early morning & evening
- All tools are provided
- All bedding is provided
- I recommend bringing a set of work clothes for each day…they will get very dirty!
- Large trash bag to bring home your work clothes
gifts for the family
Approximately two weeks before our build we will receive a profile of the recipient family. It's a lot of fun to shop or collect lightly worn items with the family in mind. While the family is away on their shopping trip, we will bring in all of the gifts. Seeing the family's reaction is better than Christmas morning! Gift ideas include:
- Clothing and shoes (new or lightly worn) for adults and kids
- Toys, dolls, sports items
- School and art supplies
- Toiletry items
- Small household items (e.g. tools kits, sewing kits, blankets, towels, etc.)
