Cost

The cost is $1,100 per person, not including airfare to San Diego. 

We recognize this is large amount per person and encourage fundraising to defray the cost. We also like to think of it as a charitable donation that we get to hand deliver. Your entire fee is tax deductible (as is your airfare if the trip is solely for the purposes of building).

Your $1,100 fee covers seven key things:

HOH House- the majority of your fee goes towards the total cost of the Homes of Hope house and furniture package ($10,700).

School Uniforms- a new uniform for each school age child in the family (children cannot attend public school without an official uniform at a cost of $85 each)

Food- breakfast and dinner are served on campus and lunch/snacks are provided on the build site. Bottled water is readily available on both the campus and build site.

Accommodations-extremely comfortable hotel style rooms with private bathroom.

Transportation-a chartered bus from/to San Diego airport as well as transportation to the build site.

Staff- YWAM provides necessary staff including builders, translators, hosts, drivers, cooks, etc.

Other- Wi-fi, bedding in rooms, HOH shirts, meeting facilities, etc.

On the second day of the build, we will surprise the receiving family with a  shopping trip! The shopping trip is funded through extra donations and we typically give between $500-$800 dollars (the equivalent of several months salary). This is a great opportunity for our younger builders to get engaged prior to the trip with bake sales, raffles, odd jobs, etc.
