Safety
Safety is paramount and given recent news coverage, we inevitably get questions about the safety of Tijuana. Please note, we don't actually build in Tijuana. The neighborhoods in which we build are located outside of Tijuana. Residents know and love YWAM because its ministries support these families and communities on an ongoing basis. The YWAM campus is fully gated and is located in the beautiful oceanside community of San Antonio del Mar.
We always travel in groups and the YWAM staff has radios and cell phones at all times. We can confidently say that we have never felt concerned for our safety.

We LOVE sharing this experience with children! Year after year, our younger builders amaze us with their willingness to work, their capacity for compassion, and their ability to connect with local children. It is amazing to watch their worlds and their hearts expand!
In addition to YWAM's safety rules, we ask that parents review the following with their children:
- children must ride in the same van as their parents to/from the build site
- maximum of three children on the roof at one time; 1:1 adult to child ratio while on roof
- everyone must clean up after themselves. Please treat YWAM's campus and build site the same way you would a church/house of worship
