Trip Details

This year's trip is April 18 to April 21, 2024.

Everyone is responsible for getting to San Diego airport by 3pm on Thursday, April 18, 2024. Here is an outline of what you can expect:

Thursday, April 18- We will all meet at 3pm at the Southwest Airlines baggage claim, Terminal 1, San Diego Airport. Once everyone is together, we will board the YWAM chartered bus and head across the border; we should arrive at YWAM's campus in San Antonio del Mar about an hour and a half later. After a brief orientation, we will have dinner, get settled into our rooms, and connect (firepits! soccer! volleyball!)
Friday, April 19- After breakfast we will have a brief training to review the build process and safety guidelines. Then it's off to the build site where we will meet the receiving family and get to work. The day ends back on campus with dinner and more fun.
Saturday, April 20- Following breakfast, we head back to finish up the house. After lunch, the family will go on a surprise shopping trip and while away, we will load in the furniture and put on the finishing touches. When the family returns, we bless the keys of their new home and experience true joy as the impact of our labor and God's love comes into view.
Sunday, April 21- After breakfast, our Homes of Hope sponsor will drive us back to the San Diego airport. We will be at the airport in time for flights departing 1pm and later.

For those who have never done a mission trip, it may be helpful to know that while YWAM is a Christian organization, people of all faiths are welcome. The purpose is to show God's love, and our love for each other, through service.

To GREATLY expedite the border crossing, please complete a Mexico Tourist Card for all family members prior to travel. Here is some key information you will need to complete the form:

Once you complete the form, print the PDF document and bring with your passport or passport card to the border. The tourist permit is free for visitors staying in Mexico for less than 7 days.
You will need 6 months or more validly on your passport to complete online.
You can complete the form once you are within 30 days of your arrival date.
